The captain has a solid oak frame bed made up with the ship's original bed linen. Behind the bed is a multi-band Hallicrafters radio and a sound-powered telephone (The phone uses the power of the voice vibrating a internal diaphragm to create current to transmit the voice-there are no batteries or other power source connected to this phone)

The Head (bathroom) located in the Captain's stateroom is only one (1) of two (2) available for personal use. The rest of the crew use heads assigned to each Department, i.e. deck, engineering etc. The other "private" head is for the use of the Chief Engineer. The Captain has a chest of drawers topped by a small bar. The captain's binoculars are located in the corner next to the settee.
